EDUCATION
Saving children from failed
values.
Family
The most essential
ingredient in education is
parental involvement in the
education of a child.
Family will have a better
understanding of the
strengths and weaknesses of
a child, and this
understanding is a vital
tool in imparting knowledge
and values. Parents deserve
and need to be involved in
establishing the educational
priorities of their
children. Student’s who are
well grounded in their
family, faith, respect for
life and the traditional
values of the nation will be
better students, will follow
teacher instructions, be
better citizens and better
community members.
Prosperity
The quality of an education
usually indicates future
prosperity for a child. A
good education is often the
difference between wealth
and poverty, between
personal motivation and low
self-esteem and in some
communities the difference
between a life crime and a
life of successful
employment. The prosperity
of our children and the
future health of our economy
and nation are far too
important to leave in the
hands of a stranger.
Teachers should know parents
and know what parents expect
their children to learn to
prepare them for a
prosperous, moral life.
Government Responsibility
There can be no question of
the importance of government
in providing education to
our children. However, any
bureaucratic school system
that denies basic
instruction on when life
begins or the importance of
faith in our daily lives and
the basic values expressed
in our laws and our founding
documents, will deny a child
of an essential elements in
their education.
Political Honesty
In too many school districts
the purpose of the
educational bureaucracy is
not to provide children with
an education, the knowledge,
the tools, the values, the
faith, and the motivation to
succeed. The school
“curriculum” seems more
often to do with behavior
modification and
“indoctrination” than the
teaching of fundamentals.
The school reform that has
taken place within the last
half-century leaves children
without basic moral values,
little self-discipline, and
many unable to read or
write.
A new “revolution” is needed
to give control of schools
back to local control, with
parents deciding the
“curriculum” which would
prepare the children for a
life that would allow them
the “pursuit of happiness”.
Without all the basic
elements of faith,
community, citizenship,
history, math, science,
reading and the ability to
convey their thoughts
persuasively a child is
denied a full education that
will lead them to a
prosperous, productive and
happy life. So long as
teachers are responsible to
a government authority and
not the parents, students
will be trapped in an
educational system that
offers little hope of
preparing them for a truly
successful life.
